What does the train the trainers course involve?

Line managers of IECs will undertake a training package that consists of online learning and a follow-on workshop. The workshop offers a space for them to connect and reflect on the online learning, practice some skills of cultural competence, hear lived experience of IECs and explore the actions that they are going to commit to in support of their IECs.

In your 'train the trainers course' you learn everything you need to deliver these workshops in your own organisations.

We have several courses scheduled throughout the year. Upcoming workshop dates are: 13th June, 16th July, 15th August and 12th September.

Yes, you need to complete the online learning and attend a managers' workshop. It is important that you not only have knowledge and confidence about cultural competence, but also that you understand the training the managers will have had before they attend your workshop.
We will provide you with the workshop structure and some slides if you would like to use these. It is important to have internationally educated colleagues present who can share their lived experience and you should begin to identify these within your organisation.
£75 per place on the line managers course and £250 per place on the train the trainer course. There is also a one time admin fee of £250.
Total training time is 9-10 hours. On average the online learning takes five hours. Learners are given eight weeks to complete this. There is also a two hour follow-on workshop. Small group facilitation eLearning takes at most one hour and there is a one hour train the trainers workshops.
Yes, certificates will be issued.
It just means that you are able to deliver the follow-on workshops for the line managers cultural competence training. It doesn't mean that you should be viewed as an expert in ED&I or cultural competence, although you may well be so.
You or someone in your trust will identify managers to undertake the training and they will join an online course alongside other managers. New courses will launch each month.
